The partnership of San Jose Water and Primewater Infrastructure Corporation (PWIC) is set to implement a major service improvement project aimed to bring greater volume of supply and better water pressure to Bgy. Muzon, the most populous barangay in the City of San Jose Del Monte. As of 2020, Bgy. Muzon has a population of 127,506.
Within the first quarter of 2023, the partnership will commence the installation of an additional Interconnection Point at the Bulacan Bulk Water System Project line and interconnect the BBWSP line to the Bgy. Muzon water line. The project will cost approximately P26.4 Million. Before the end of the year, a 400 mm transmission line with an approximate length of 3444 linear meters will be laid from Bgy. Tungkong Mangga to Bgy. Gaya-gaya. The transmission line will convey a maximum of 30 MLD of treated water from the BBWSP to Bgy. Muzon and Bgy. Gaya-Gaya. The project will cost PhP 138.4 Million.
“These projects are major investments of the partnership that will address the water supply interruptions in Bgy. Muzon and the vicinity. We expect the additional IP project to be completed by June 2023, and the transmission line project will commence within the year,” said GM Lory Limcolioc.
San Jose Water and Primewater entered into the partnership in 2018. As of December 31, 2022, the partnership has already spent P529 Million on Capital Expenditures for water system improvement and service expansion. An additional 23,000 families have also been given water service connections, bringing the total service connections to 138,710.
