More than PhP 30 Million from the partnership of San Jose Water and Primewater Infrastructure Corporation (PWIC) will benefit Community Mortgage Projects (CMPs) in the City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. Dubbed as Tubig Kalinga: Safe and Potable Water for CMPs, the project aims to provide individual water service connection in CMPs.

Last March 15, 2023, the water system of Greenheights Subdivision and Galahapmai Village both in Bgy. Muzon, the city’s most populous barangay, were formally inaugurated. The water system of another CMP, Villa Natividad in Bgy. Minuyan Proper, is nearing completion. A total of 922 families are expected to benefit from the project. The partnership spent PhP 6.1 Million for the water system of these three CMPs, including the transmission line, internal distribution network, reservoir, and boosting station. City Mayor Arthur B. Robes and Cong. Florida Robes graced the inauguration.

“We recognize that CMP beneficiaries do not have the enough resources to fund their water supply system. In line with our mission of providing water to every San Joseno, San Jose Water and Primewater agreed to fund the water system of these CMPs as long they submit all requirements,” said GM Loreto Limcolioc.

To qualify as Tubig Kalinga beneficiary, a CMP has to express its interest in writing to San Jose Water, and submit the subdivision plan, development permit indicating that it is a CMP, and grant of right way from the land owner in favor of San Jose Water. There are eight other CMPs that have expressed their interest to be part of the project and are still in the process of complying with the requirements, specially the grant of right of way from the land owner.

The CMP is a mortgage financing program of the government which assists legally organized associations of underprivileged and homeless citizens to purchase and develop a tract of land under the concept of community ownership. Seven out of 23 CMPs with a total of approximately 3500 families in the City of San Jose Del Monte are already enjoying individual water service from San Jose Water.
