The partnership San Jose Water and Primewater Infrastructure Corporation (PWIC) has activated its most recent water supply improvement project, the additional Interconnection Point (IP) at Bgy. Muzon which interconnects the Bulacan Bulk Water System Project (BBWSP) line to the water line of San Jose Del Monte City Water District. The project costs P26.4 Million.
With the activation, 90% of the residents of Bgy. Muzon or around 23,500 families now enjoy 24 hours of water supply. Prior to the activation, the higher portions of the barangay experience intermittent service interruption especially during the peak hours due to low water pressure.
Before the end of the year, a 400 mm transmission line with an approximate length of 3444 linear meters will be laid from Bgy. Tungkong Mangga to Bgy. Gaya-gaya. The transmission line will convey a maximum of 30 MLD of treated water from the BBWSP to Bgy. Muzon and Bgy. Gaya-Gaya. The project will cost PhP 138.4 Million.
San Jose Water and Primewater entered into the partnership in May, 2018. Since then, the partnership has already spent around PhP800 Million on capital expenditures for water system improvement and service expansion. As of July 31, 2023, the partners are already serving 140,925 connections from San Jose Water’s service connections of 95,548 prior to the partnership.
